Scotty has been excited for his baptism for about a year and a half. This was a long awaited day for him. He was finally able to get baptized last Saturday, August 6th.
He chose his dad to baptize him and his grandpa Heaton and Bishop Nordstrom as the witnesses. He was also confirmed on Saturday. The men that were in the circle were, his dad, Grandpa Heaton, Bishop Nordstrom, Brother Cooper, Uncle Greg Peterson, Uncle Richard Killian, Shad Rollo. It was a wonderful day filled with the spirit.
Scott and Scotty had to be at the church at 8:30 so they could get dressed and be ready in the chapel by 9. And the rest of us walked in right at 9 so I was not able to get many pictures of them in their white clothes. I did manage to snap a couple as we headed from the chapel to the font in the Relief Society room.
My mom has a tradition that she buys each of the grandkids their own set of nice scriptures when they turn eight. Scotty wanted brown scriptures, but they don't sell brown anymore. who knew?? His second choice was blue.
His primary teacher, Sister Waite came to support Scotty. She is a great teacher and is our Stake President's wife. I am not sure if it is a good thing to have her as his teacher. President Waite has made the comment to Scott before that since his wife has been Scotty's teacher he has learned a lot about our family. YIKES! The other boys in the picture are his good friend Peyton and Peyton's older brother Pierce. They were excited because they both had blue ties.
This is one of Scott's priest's Andrew. Scotty really looks up to Andrew and he has been so kind to Scotty. At a ward activity a while back we went from room to room playing games with our families. Scotty decided he wanted a big brother and left our family to play with Andrew and his mom. He was thrilled that Andrew would come to his baptism.
This is our buddy Kyson Rollo. We are really close with the Rollo Family. Kyson was so excited to see Scotty get baptized, look at that smile.
Scotty with Grandma and Grandpa.
This is all the family that came, minus Angela, some how she slipped home before we took the pictures. It was great that Briana and her family made the trip and perfect timing that my sister and her family were able to make it before the flew out on Monday.
Isn't this the cutest picture? Scotty is a great big brother and turning into such a wonderful young man. We are so proud that he made the choice to be baptized. We love you Scotty!
