Well, our stake had girls camp this week, however because of excessive rain which leads to excessive mud, which leads to trucks getting stuck in the mud and mudslides it was cancelled before half of the girls even got into camp. The stake then encouraged all the wards to take their girls and do something with them instead. So my girlfriend Alison had to leave with short notice to help her young women's president put something together for their ward. So she called and asked if I would help her with her kids. I agreed. Our kids get along great and I owe her for several years of her watching my kids while I went to girls camp. Good thing we have never been in young woman's at the same time. This is the first year I have not gone in a long time and I was actually relieved to be the one home watching the kids. Girls camp is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work!
So, I have spent the last few days with 9 kids. I have James and 4 sets of twins! All of our kids are the same age and I have yet to convince Alison to dive in and have number 5.
TWINS SET #1 Elena and Haley 10 years old
These two have known each other since they were 2 or 3. They are both beautiful! I cannot believe that they only have one more year of elementary school. AAAHH!
These two don't hang out as much but when they do they play great. They are a funny pair because Maddy is really big for her age and Rex is quite small.
Do these faces look like double trouble or what? Surprising for their age they also get along great. I did not have one episode of them fighting over anything. That right there is amazing!
This is what 4 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese looks like. How would you ever get enough food storage if you had 9 kids!
Yesterday was the only time that I had them all day. The day went really well. Kids were all awake by 7 (minus James)so i got them fed and we all jumped in the pool. By 11 the 2 years olds were getting tired so the three of us went inside to fix lunch. By the time lunch was ready little James woke up. We ate and the big kids watched a movie and played while I put the two year olds down for a nap. Haley and Elena watched James for me. By the time Marianne and Jill were asleep James was ready to go down and the older kids were ready to jump in the pool again. Once James was asleep and the big kids were in the pool I actually had a good hour of quiet time and was able to read the ensign. The day couldn't have been any better! I don't usually get that much time when I just have my own kids. Tender mercies were definitely happening!
