What's Been Going On!

DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE
Last week Haley and Madeline took their dad to the Daddy Daughter Dance at school!  They got all gussied up and had such a great time! Even Scott said it was such a great activity!  Don't they all look Beautiful?  Scott worked late every night that week, but he took time off to dance the night away with his girls.  When he got home he changed clothes and went right back to work. I love that he tries so hard to put his family first!

 BLUE AND GOLD BANQUET
Scotty had his first Blue and Gold Banquet for Scouts!  It was a Hawaiian theme!  The Wolf pack did the "Haka" dance. Scotty was asked to be the leader and took it very seriously.  He knew every word and action.  They did such a great job!
The Hawaiian club from our highschool came and danced as well.  Breanna and Ashley Butler were there.  The girls were so impressed with the "Haka" boys they want them to perform with them at the highschool.  I am not sure that will happen, but Scotty is going to do it for his school talent show!
Scott and Scotty were practicing their warrior faces!
Haley and her friend Abbie were asked to greet all the people at the door and put leis on them.  They were the cutest Hawaiian girls ever!
James did not feel good.  The day before we went to the doctor and found out that he has double ear infections!  YUCK!

Video of his performance

EL PRESIDENTE
Haley was just elected the 1st Junior student council President at Somerset Academy!!

PACKAGES
We got three packages today!  My family (me included) love to get packages. One of those packages were these fun slippers from Grandma Hendricks!  She made them all, aren't they adorable  The kids LOVE them!  They were wearing them all night dancing and sliding around on the wood floor!

The sign says, "Thanks, Grandma Hendricks!"

CUTE KIDS
I found these pictures from Christmas!  This was Christmas morning in their new church clothes.  I love this picture because it is so REAL!  The older three are happy and easy MOST of the time, Marianne is usually showing some type of dramatic emotion and James is always eating!

Happy Birthday Madeline!

My Sweet Madeline is 6!
This picture pretty much sums up the last couple of weeks at our house!  Missy has been counting down the weeks and then days and then hours until her birthday!  She has been overcome with excitement!
Because I cannot figure out how to download pictures in the order I want we are going to start at the end of the day and go to the beginning.  So this is Madeline's birthday in rewind!
James enjoying Madeline's DELICIOUS Chocolate Birthday cake!  I asked her several times what kind of cake she wanted me to make and every time she told me she wanted the BIG Chocolate cake from Costco with the chocolate on the outside.  So..no cake for me to make this year!  Yeah for me!
Haley and Madeline are pretty good friends.  Haley has told me on occasion that she wishes Maddy was Scotty's age, then they would have more opportunity to do things together, especially as they get older. We were waiting to have dinner.  The heart plates come out on February 1st, who doesn't love to eat on heart plates.  Maddy requested bean and cheese burritos for dinner. She is seriously the easiest child to please. So bean and cheese and rice burritos it was!
Marianne was just thrilled to be at the party. She has a hard time understanding that none of the presents were for her.
Meet Pink Mega Mind! Created by the birthday girl!
Metro Man is flying in to save the world from Pink Mega Mind! (My kids kind of like that movie!)

The Ginormous Chocolate Birthday Cake!  Can you believe that it is gone tonight? Yes our family and my parents consumed about 7 pounds of Chocolate Heaven in only...3 days! SICK! We are ZIGGY PIGGYS!

Presents: Justin Bieber backpack courtesy of Aunt Angela!

Fun sticker book, shirt, and board book from Grandma and Grandpa Hendricks
 Makeup from Haley
Super cute dress and matching purse from Grandma and Grandpa Heaton
Tangled Barbie doll from Marianne

 Hula Hoop from Scotty
 Pin Wheel from Scotty
Thank you's to Everyone for a wonderful Birthday!
Grandma and Grandpa coming for her birthday was the BEST present of all! Missy and Grandpa have a great bond.  She sat on his lap the entire Sacrament meeting today and cried after church that she missed them and was sad they had to leave!
Grandpa is James buddy too.  He watched James on Friday for 4 hours so mom and I could go shopping!  We LOVE YOU Grandpa!
I think the Hula hoop and jump rope were the hit of the night!  Everyone had lots of fun showing off!

I went to Maddy's class and took cookies for her birthday!  I love going to my kids classes because they light up when they see you.  Their classmates light up too, they love to have someone recognize them and talk to them.  I was able to volunteer the next day as well.  Madeline loved it.  After school I made arrangements so I could just take her to lunch.  She picked the place that gives you a strawberry with your quesadilla, aka Cafe Rio.  She ate her quesadilla and then half of my salad. She and I share a LOVE for the cilantro lime vinigarette dressing.
She got the sticker on her head from her 6th grade reading buddy.  After lunch we were off to her first birthday surprise !
Getting her ears pierced! She has been begging since before Christmas to get her ears pierced!  My initial reaction was no because she is too young.  But as we thought about it, why was she too young?  I couldn't get my ears pierced until I was twelve and by then I was piercing my own ear.  I could not think of a good reason not to let her get them pierced.  There has not been a precedence set because Haley has never asked or had the desire to get her ears pierced.  So, we decided that would be a great birthday present!  Claires here we come!
Madeline was a little nervous. The girl let her pick out a sucker and a sticker while she waited for me to fill out the paper work. She did not say a word and just twirled the sucker between her fingers.

The left ear!
The right ear!

Her expression did not change until she looked in the mirror and then a great big smile broke through! This is the cute girl at Claires that pierced them.  She helped make it a great experience!

We started the day out with breakfast in bed...kind of.  If anyone knows Madeline she does not like to get up in the morning. She is the last one to pull out of bed! But today she was up bright and early before anyone.  So, we sent her to get dressed and climb in my bed to wait for her breakfast.

Madeline is such a special part of our family.  She is so shy and quiet around people she does not know and will not speak if she does not want too.  There is a quiet stubbornness about her.  But when she is with family or friends she knows well she is loud, energetic, and full of life.  When she smiles her whole face lights up.  She loves school and primary, but gets really sad if Haley forgets to walk her to class.  She is just starting to read. She loves to ride bikes, scooters, and roller skates.  She is NOT a picky eater which I love, she will try about any food you put in front of her.  She sleeps like a bear.  She is very kind to her younger sister and brother and loves to play the big sister role.

WE LOVE YOU MISSY MOO!
